A nose of the perfume of violets, grass and smoke, wonderfully fresh with ripe tannins expressing the ’schists’ (shale) of the soil of Faugéres. Dark fresh fruit, good acidity, fine tannins, volumious. Eat with pork and roasted meats with a BBQ flavour. Cellar for up to 5 years. Decant for 1 hour. Wine critic Chris Kissack said ’This needs an hour or two to show its potential, but when it does it reveals rather sweet, garrigue-like aromas on the nose, with overtones of macerated red summer fruits.
