The expression Coup de Foudre is used to describe that butterflies in the stomach sensation of love at first sight. Quite an appropriate term for this mighty Muscat. A beautiful colour of old yellow gold and copper reflections. A nose of dried apricots, notes of honey, coconut and beeswax, perfumed with floral crystallised lemon and eucalyptus which follow though on the vividly flavoured, complex palate. The long finish shows more than a hint of bitter orange peel, cut through with a cleansing acidity, giving it great balance. Serve at 12 degrees with a wide range of desserts or Roquefort with figs and honey.
